La reseña del libro Llama en Lima (Novice)
During second trimester, students in Novice Spanish read their first chapter book entirely in Spanish! ¡Wow! The novel centers around Llama, a llama who is bored of her life in the zoo where she lives. Along with her friends, Mono (monkey) and Cuy (guinea pig), Llama escapes the zoo for a wild adventure through Lima, Perú.
After finishing the novel, students had the chance to write their own book review! Students summarized the most important events in the story, and then wrote a few sentences expressing their opinions. Students described why they liked or disliked the book as well as to whom they would recommend it. For this project, students not only practiced the grammatical structures and vocabulary presented in the book, but also their speaking skills!
Please watch their videos below to learn what students thought of their first experience reading a novel in Spanish!

Ivy: I loved this book! It was funny and surprisingly easy to read!
Jack: It was so cool to know that I could read a book in Spanish. It really shows how much I have grown since my first day in this class.
