Nuestras clases (Novice)

At the end of trimester three, students in Novice Spanish read the novel La clase de confesiones by AC Quintero. In the book, the characters receive an assignment in Spanish class to write about one of their classes at school, which inspired us to write our own reports about a “clase de interés”, or “a class of interest” at Meridian. Please scroll through the slideshow to the right to read about the different classes that our students take at Meridian! In each description, students describe the activities they do, who the teacher is, and what they like about the course. This project allowed students to draw connections between themselves and the book, while also practicing new vocabulary, the present tense, and the differences between the verbs “ser” and “estar”, a primary grammatical focus this trimester.

Frances says: I really enjoyed reading La Clase de Confesiones, so when we went home that night and did the same project our characters had just been doing in that day’s chapter, it was definitely fun. It also gave me a chance to reflect on what we had done that year when I was actually writing, which I always appreciate.

Jojo says: I enjoyed reading La clase de confesiones.  It was very interesting! It gave me a chance to think about everything that I've done in the past year.

Ava says: Reading this book was fun! Even though I did not love the book, the activities that came from it were fun!

Simone says: Reading the book was interesting, there were some questionable moments, but it was fun and the projects based on it were fun!
