¿Qué está pasando?: Movie Talk (Novice)
During third trimester, students developed skills for describing themselves and others. They also learned to describe actions in progress using what is known as the present progressive tense in Spanish. As a way to demonstrate their growing skills in this area, students narrated short videos in Spanish! Each student found a video between 4-6 minutes long with minimal dialogue. Then, they recorded themselves reading aloud a script that they had written for the video.
Please watch the videos below and listen to the students as they describe the characters and actions of each animated short!
Aya says: I really liked this because it was a very fun project. We had a lot of freedom to choose what video we wanted, and then we narrated them in our own words, which I really enjoyed. For me the best part was seeing what everyone else made. During this project I learned a lot of new words, from my video and others.
Rose says: I really enjoyed this project because I got to use my creative skills while still learning Spanish.
Jack says: I had a lot of fun with this project because I felt like I learned a lot of new words and how to use them during the project.
August says: I really liked this project! It was very fun and engaging to write a voice-over, as well as choosing the video.
