El ABC de mi nombre (Novice)
While learning the sounds of the Spanish language, students examined the Spanish alphabet. For a project, students created acrostic poems by choosing a word in Spanish for each letter of their name. They then illustrated each of the letters in their names and the words they had chosen. In order to practice their pronunciation, students recorded themselves spelling their names and each of the words they illustrated. Finally, students combined their illustrations and audio recording into a brief video!
Aya says: “It was really fun to draw pictures of words that start with each letter of our name, and then find words that described us.”
Eleanor says: “I really liked this project because we had to practice the Spanish alphabet, but we also got to draw, and I really like to do that, too.”
Jojo says: “I really enjoyed learning about the Spanish alphabet. It was hard at first, but once you get the rhythm going, it becomes easier!”
Pashya says: “I liked this project because it showed our creativity and confidence when pronouncing our names in Spanish.”
