Mara's Mirror Maze
For my distinctions project this trimester I decided to learn about mirrors and design a mirror maze. To start this project I reflected some numbers, letters, and words in different ways, this helped me start to understand what mirrors can do. For my next step I used mirrors to see how setting them up in different ways would look. After doing this I moved on to taking photos and designing the maze.
To start creating my map I looked back at the different mirror setups I had already tried; I was able to use these setups to create a complete map. Based on the work I had done I understood how most of the mirrors would look if they were actually set up. Due to the fact that we are having online classes I also needed to work to make sure that I could take pictures of different mirror setups that would demonstrate what was happening and would give the viewer a good understanding. If we were able to have in-person exhibitions I would be able to set up the examples and not need to worry about taking photos. This was really difficult at times and I had to put a lot of work in to make sure that I took pictures that let the viewer see the mirrors well. I put all of this work together into an online poster that shows the map and some of the different mirror setups used.
