Distinciones (I2)

Una historia de la República Dominicana

Por: Clem

For his Distinction’s project, Clem decided to research the history of the Dominican Republic and to create a timeline that covers the main events that happened from the 1500’s until the present day. Clem’s motivation to complete this project was rooted in his class’ (Intermedio 2) reading and discussion of the short novel Minerva, which takes place on the island during the brutal regime of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo (1930-1961).

Clem first read a lot about the island’s history and he took extensive notes in Spanish! Then he wrote and thoroughly revised the text for his timeline. Lastly, he hand drew and organized his images and text.

Below you can see his finished timeline (the long image that spans from the third row until the fifth row), surrounded by each time period presented separately.
