This trimester in Human Biology and Decision Making, students explored the meaning and uses for mathematical functions. They began by reviewing different algebraic concepts to apply to functions and the different types of functions they could make. They conducted simple experiments in their Data Modeling project, collecting data and calculating equations to best fit their points. In more artistic pursuits, each student picked a favorite piece of art and used functions to trace each of the different elements. The results showed a keen visual eye and a clear understanding of different equation shapes. Additionally, students created models that represented organelles and provided an explanation of their function.
