This year, as a result of the need for flexibility to move between distinct learning environments, Division 4 has embarked on a cross-interdisciplinary curriculum. Meeting as a full group everyday with both a Humanities teacher and a Math, Science, & Technology teacher, students are exposed to issues that cut across all subject areas and deserve to be explored with a variety of lenses. In the third trimester, students explored food and agriculture by building garden planters, performing soil testing, and working through the recipe development process. With the junior class, we investigated health insurance before exploring different forms of insurance. Students created their own stochastic spreadsheets to model the costs and crafted brochures to sell their insurance to their target audience.
