This year, as a result of the need for flexibility to move between distinct learning environments, Division 4 has embarked on a cross-interdisciplinary curriculum. By focusing on shorter than trimester-long units, we are able to design, and even pivot, for when the parameters of how we are teaching change. Meeting as a full group everyday with both a Humanities teacher and a Math, Science, & Technology teacher, students are exposed to issues that cut across all subject areas and deserve to be explored with a variety of lenses. In this first trimester, students looked at urban planning and learned to use ArcGIS. Following this they studied education and school in America, and crafted their own ranking functions to try and judge schools off what they believe matters most. Check out the projects below!
