Tessellating Figures

A tessellation is a pattern of shapes which fit together without gaps or overlaps. This term, students studied tessellations to see angle and side relationships, as well as the interactions of rotation and symmetry. They looked at many examples from artist MC Escher, who is famous for this art form. Each student created their own tessellation using the TesselManiac! app. Take a look at all of their artistic creations here and click on a picture to see their artist statement.
