¡El ataque de las sombras! (A1)
This school year, students in Advanced 1 read a three-book series by A.C. Quintero. This last trimester, we read the third and final book, Las Sombras, which is a crazy end to a crazy series. As the book goes on, you discover more and more about a race of extraterrestrial beings living in the town, Las Sombras: who they are (spoiler: their leader is the father of a main character!), their process of kidnapping people and taking their souls, which can turn them into Sombras if done right, and their plan to take over the world. In order to conclude it, we felt like this series needed a project that was as weird and fun as the books were, so we decided to design our own version of the game Clue using the characters, major items, and locations from the book. We created a game board, character cards, “weapons,” a rulebook, and an instructional video on how to play!
