Memorial para las víctimas de la dictadura militar de Argentina (A1)

After having studied Argentina’s military dictatorship of the 1970s, students in High School Advanced Spanish worked to create a memorial that would honor the victims of this time period. In addition to our readings and class discussions, students read the short story Guerra Sucia about one reporter’s experience covering the military dictatorship in 1977. Using the information gathered, students explored the question of how we can honor and remember the more than 30,000 victims of this time period. What you see here are the student visual responses to this question, accompanied by an artist statement that explains both the artistic choices each student made as well as the historical elements included in each piece.
