What is a favorite memory from your time at Meridian?

My favorite time at Meridian was winning field day with the Sparks after several years of failed attempts.

What will you miss the most after you leave Meridian?

I will miss staying after school to do homework or talk with friends in the lounge or conference room. I will miss Field day and Community Groups and all of the great field trips we had.

What is a parting thought you have for younger students? Words of wisdom?

Four years really speeds by, but you can achieve a lot in that time as well. Make the most of it, and be positive.

Quotes from Zac’s peers:

  • Zac and I don't have a ton in common, but yet we always end up having interesting conversations. From learning about his late-night cooking adventures to insulating the windows in his room (Have you done that yet?), Zac always has a salient opinion.

  • Once you start a conversation with Zac, it will always last until interrupted from outside. He is an amazing listener, and always has interesting takes and information of his own to add.

  • Zac is a hidden gem in that he is often very careful about when and how he draws attention to himself, but whenever he does he always has a great reason to do so. With razor-sharp wit and humor, Zac can easily make entire class rooms clutch their sides in laughter. His intelligence and humor is matched by his humility and down-to-earth attitude. We could all learn from Zac.

  • What I love about having a class with Zac is the fact that he will mumble a joke or a roast in class, which cracks me up every time. Like that one time when Zac and I had to stay after school to do Spanish practice and we kept doing the “flip the bottle” challenge and we learned how to say “One more time” in Spanish. “UNA VEZ MAS”

  • Zac is an enigma to me. He once wrote about how teenagers aren't trusted in the kitchen by the corporate or adult world, and I agree. But I'd trust him to play with fire, and, as with his other hidden talents, to do it astonishingly well.

  • Zac's savage personality is amazing. He makes just the right comments at the right moment, whether it's in community groups or in Zoom homeroom. His cooking skills show his creativity and also how generous he is with the people around him, especially the Sparks.

  • Zac, you have been quite mysterious during your time here. But I do know that you are an amazing cook, and have some pretty fun interests! I hope you continue to live stream while making your lunches!

  • From cooking delicious looking dishes, to hilarious jokes in class, to his amazing soccer skills, Zac does it all!
