What is a favorite memory from your time at Meridian?

My favorite memory would definitely have to be going on a field trip to Salam and seeing all of the Asian art at the Peabody Essex Museum with my D4 Hum class lead by Sarah. It was so much fun, we saw the most beautiful pieces of art, and we even got to go into the “Chinese House” which was super cool. On top of that, we also went to a small local diner and ate lunch all together which was super fun!

What will you miss the most after you leave Meridian?

I think what I will miss the most are the small class sizes, the interesting class discussions, and the passionate teachers. My time at Meridian has helped me develop into a stronger, braver person. I felt such a strong feeling of belonging and community at Meridian that I will miss a lot. I will miss First Food Friday and even being yelled at for eating in the hallways. Thanks so much for dealing with me Meridian!

What is a parting thought you have for younger students? Words of wisdom?

My biggest piece of advice is to communicate. When I first came to Meridian, I did not know the importance of communication. The teachers are there to help you learn and grow. If something the teachers are doing is not working for you, definitely communicate your concerns with the teacher. It may be scary at first, but I guarantee you will benefit from those conversations.

Quotes from Tali’s peers:

  • Tali's growth at Meridian has been incredible to watch. When she first started, she was quiet, and barely spoke in class. With time, she has grown and opened her mouth, sharing her wealth of insights, humor, and the innate ability to pump up a crowd.

  • Tali always brings new perspectives to a conversation. Talking with her always seems to give you a fuller picture than you had before, and you start thinking down new paths you hadn't considered before.

  • Tali and I have had multiple arguments, some that’s nearly ended our friendship. But we’re still friends no matter what. She’s a dope artist, and she expresses herself through that art.

  • Tali is extremely relaxed, relatable, and fun. She will suffer through the worst projects side-by-side with her partner, always understanding difficulties but never accepting laziness. Her jokes are on point and her coordinated outfits are something admired by the whole school.

  • Tali changed from the quietest person I have ever met into a woman willing to share her remarkable insight in many hysterically funny and thought-provoking ways. Nobody else has made me laugh so hard and so long I gave up on knowing what Jon was teaching us. She has a knack for seeing and speaking clearly, which enables her to crack excellent jokes as well as tackle complex questions and situations. I feel blessed to have learned from her and laughed with her.

  • Looking back, she was so quiet and barely spoke in class. Fast-forward a few years, and she is presenting in front of a large crowd for her JRPS, voice loud and clear as ever. In becoming more confident, her hilarious personality also shines through. She's a great person to be around.

  • Tali, you have really blossomed throughout the years. It's been amazing to watch you come into your own and develop your own art style and fashion taste. Your stories are never boring, and you always make people laugh.

  • Tali's humor and ability to hype anyone up can bond a group of people in an instant. She is an intuitively compassionate person, and lights up the room with her energy.

  • I am so lucky to have such an amazing, beautiful person as my friend. Tali is one of the most creative, caring, hilarious, supportive, thoughtful, generous, brave, passionate, loving, and strongest people that I know. The minute I walk into school and see her warm smile, my day is instantly brightened, and she constantly inspires me to be courageous, even in the hardest times, and live life to the fullest.
