Emily Naito – Head of the Middle School; Mathematics, Science, and Technology

Emily grew up in the Bay Area of California before deciding to try out the colder climates of the Boston area for college. While in school, she sought out different education-centered experiences, including teaching preschoolers to program robots and teaching action-based civics to high school students. During and after college, Emily worked for EXPLO, a hands-on summer enrichment program, where she developed curriculum and taught everything from pasta-making to bacterial epidemiology and furthered her love of experiential learning opportunities. She is excited to bring her passion of problem-solving, computer science, and math to the Meridian community. When she is not teaching, Emily enjoys infusing science into her cooking and baking, playing new board games, and crocheting three-dimensional artwork. Emily joined Meridian in 2019.
