Applying to Meridian

PLEASE CLICK HERE for a welcome letter, printable timeline, and information about Accelerated Admissions. Please click here for a full discussion of our Matched Tuition plan, which makes Meridian financially accessible for all families.

Applying to Meridian is a process of discovering what is possible when a school celebrates each student’s curiosity and creativity. Meridian students are known well, contribute to their classes and community, and grow into who they imagine they can be. Meridian serves students in grades 6 through 12. We accept new students in grades 6 through 10. Applicants for 9th grade must successfully complete a year-long algebra course by the end of 8th grade. 10th grade applicants will be considered if there is a strong alignment between their course of study and Meridian's courses.

Meridian is now in Rolling Admissions and has limited availability in some grades. If you are interested in learning about Meridian, please sign in with Ravenna here, and our Head of School, Joshua Abrams, will contact you to discuss whether there is availability for the grade you are seeking. The admissions outline below is still the right sequence of steps for rolling admissions, but the due dates are now "as soon as manageable."

Parent Conversation

Parents are welcome to schedule a time to speak with an administrator to answer any additional questions about Meridian that they may have. This is not a required part of the application. If desired, these conversations can take place the morning of an applicant’s visit.

Request Materials from Your Child’s School

BY FEBRUARY 15TH
Both directly with the teachers, and then through Ravenna, ask current English, Mathematics, and, if any, Spanish Teachers to complete an evaluation. Ask your school to upload Transcripts, Standardized Test Results, and a Guidance Counselor Evaluation.

When possible, Meridian prefers to have access to standardized test results. This information helps us more effectively serve our incoming students. Here are your options:

  • For students applying from public schools, MAP/MCAS scores should be submitted.

  • For students who plan to take the ISEE or SSAT. Once received, we welcome an uploaded copy of your score report.

  • If an applicant’s school administers standardized tests (such as the ERBs or MAP), the school can send those along.

  • Educational evaluations may be submitted in lieu of the above options.

  • If your child does not have access to any of the above, you can schedule a brief, in-house assessment at Meridian.

  • Lastly, your child may also apply without any testing submitted, however any of the above are our preference.
